Celtics Defeat Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of NBA Playoffs
Mavericks Star Porzingis Returns from Injury
Tatum and Brown Lead Celtics to Victory
The Boston Celtics have taken an early lead in their NBA playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, defeating them 107-89 in Game 1 on Monday night. Despite a strong performance from Kristaps Porzingis, who scored 20 points in his return from a calf injury, the Celtics controlled the game from start to finish.
Boston's All-Star duo of Jayson Tatum (32 points) and Jaylen Brown (41 points) combined for 73 points, leading the Celtics' offensive charge. Tatum also drained five 3-pointers in the victory.
The Mavericks struggled to keep up with the Celtics' pace and shooting efficiency, shooting just 42.7% from the field compared to Boston's 52.2%. Dallas also committed 20 turnovers, which proved costly against the Celtics' tough defense.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night in Boston, with the Celtics looking to take a 2-0 lead before the series shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4.
